On my third day in Chiang Rai, Thailand, Mrs. Sunny took us to Mae Chan, one of Chiang Rai districts. It was on 24th of January 2018. Mrs. Sunny wanted us to join a camp from Damrong School.
In the morning, we took breakfast together for the first time in the hotel. We cooked rice and ate it with some foods that we brought from Indonesia.
We went there with Mrs. Sunny. She drove us and even treated us pineapple.
After we arrived in the camping area, we felt quite cold. although there was a sunlight.
The student from Damrong wore blue uniform. I thought that it was their scout uniform. We joined the girl camping scout. So, it was all girl in the camp.
They tried to make their own tend. Well, just like in Indonesia.
These were their bags and luggage. They brought quite a lot but it was for their needs.
There were some teacher accompany and guide them.
The ceremony was held every day, on that day also. I didnt know whether they used to the cold weather or just us that exaggerated but look, they wore short skirt and short shirt but still looked comfortable and we used long skirt, long shirt, long trouser, and also with jacket but still cold. (You cant even imagine when the night comes, damn freezing!) But Mrs. Sunny gave us warm blanket and warm water pack. Even it was still cold but she was so kind giving us those.
This is called ``lalapan``. wkwwk
I didnt know what the name of it but the taste was similar with jenang in Indonesia. It was made with black or red sticky rice and brown sugar may be.
On the first day, they did outbound with some stations, where each station had a teacher to teach them about manner or rule when camping. One of the teacher was Mrs. Sunny. This was our stations.
The students had to cross the river and got wet to reach to the next station.
Even their white shoes werent white any more. It turned to brown. LOL.
But I thought they had so much fun because they laughed happily and always smiled.
and here was also another obstacle they needed to do. Climbing.
The activity took more than 4 hours as I could remember, so we just went back to the camp and had our pre-dinner at the afternoon.
This food is called Som Tam. Som Tam is like Rujak in Indonesia, the taste is quite spicy, there is also sweet. Som Tam has some fruits in it, and eggplant, peanut, carrot, etc.
When we went back to the camp, the student also had their dinner, they cooked it them selves. They were really cute. Ahh, btw, they are still in grade 9.
At night, it was really cold. We just walked outside and sit and looked around. because me myself, couldnt control my body from shivering. Actually there was a ceremony that night, but we told Mrs. Sunny that we had to go inside the building because of the cold. To be honest, we didnt take a bath there (Well, for me, I took a bath on the last day afternoon so the cold wasnt really bad). We just touched the water and it was like ice. So that night we decided to sleep early. For me, I couldnt sleep well, I just kept moving and tried to warm my body. (Thanks to Mrs. Sunny again for lending us warm blankets).

On the 4th day, we were still in the camp. In the morning it was damn cold. I couldnt believe that the students wore short shirt. They had ceremony every morning I thought.
After the ceremony the students played some funny games directed by their senior from grade eleven. They had to put some ``make up`` to their friends with blindfolded. They had fun. They laughed so loud. These were some photos that I could snap.
After what they had done, the senor led them to do outbound. There were some stations that they should pass where their senior had already prepared. The seniors were so nice to them. They guided the students and helped them too.
The outbound session was so long until it had reached lunch time. So we took break and had lunch first. After we finished our lunch, Mrs. Sunny said that we could go directly to the last station because the next station was quite far.
In the last station, Mrs. Sunny gave us two kind of candies and took photos together. :)

When we were back the student prepared their dinner.

In the second day, we should go back to the hotel because Retsa should go to the mosque on Friday noon to pray. So, we went back together with him. We went together with the senior students using school bus. They had fun joking with each other and singing songs together.
Like that, we took rest at the hotel.
