The name of Damrong itself stands for D: Discovery, A: Activeness, M: Morality, R: Relevancy, O: Organization, N: Nobleness, and G: Goodterm.

HISTORY

Damrongratsongkroh School, is used to be school which is exclusively for girls called Bamrungkumaree in 1918 along with Samakkhiwitthayakhom School in one location. The founder of the school, Praya Rachadetdamrong, decided to move the location to his palace in May 17, 1933. Then in 1959, Praya Rattananakhet, the reigning ruler of Chiangrai, changed the name from Bamrungkumaree to Damrongratsongroh School.

Nowadays, Damrongratsongkroh School opens for both girls and boys from Mattayomsukksa 1 to 6. It is one of the largest schools in Chiangrai for the Secondary Educational Service Area Office 36, Office of the Basic Education Commision, Ministry of Education.

c)      To encourage and develop learners to have moral, ethics and desireble characteristics based on the philosophy of Sufficiency Economy.

d)     To develop a learning society inside the school by using a variety of resources and modern technology.

e)      To support and encourage learners to take part in preserving the environment, Thai culture, customs and traditions and to gain awareness of their international cultures.

f)       To support and encourage learners to have life skills, healthy and a drug-free lifestyle.

g)      To develope good government in management system.

h)      To support and encourage learners parents, their communities, other government offices and non-government organization to participate in developing educational management.

  

I wanna tell you about school culture.

 Damrongratsongkroh always has ceremony everyday. Monday for flag ceremony. Tuesday for mediation. Wednesday and the rest day, there will always a celebration everyday.

I saw the teacher cut students hair because their hair were too long. It was not just for boys but girls too.

There were some Moslem students too in Damrong. The difference was the Moslem students would wear hijab when the others didnot. Even though they wore hijab but their skirts were still short.

And as far as I know, I didnt find any Mosque in the school (because me myself prayed in the medical room 2nd floor). I didnt know where they prayed.

The students were so polite that they would greet each other especially with their seniors.

What make me remember about them is they always call me teacher teacher wherever and whenever they met me. They were so cute and lovable.

Sometimes, I came late to school and walked to the front gate (cause usually I entered through the back gate). I met some students too. They were late and the teacher gave them such punishment. I didnt even pay attention more.
